Below is some of the key terminology for our lesson on blogs and wikis. Also please read the articles on Web 2.0, Wiki, and RSS.
web 2.0 - a group of technologies which have become deeply associated with the term: blogs, wikis, podcasts, RSS feeds etc., which facilitate a more socially connected Web where everyone is able to add to and edit the information space. Below is a long but very informative article. (Just read section 2 and section 5 that shortens it up quite a bit.)
wiki – a web page that can be viewed and modified by anyone with a web browser and internet access. (caution: this means that anyone can modify the web content.) See the website below for an article on wikis.
RSS (Rich Site Summary) – a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it. Below is a website that explains RSS in one page.
